Ben was born in Pontiac Illinois in 1979 and graduated from Pontiac Township High School in 1998. He attended college at Northern Illinois University, but left before receiving his degree due to a prior commitment with the Illinois Army National Guard. Shortly after the events of September 11th, Ben was called to active duty by the National Guard and spent half of the next year as a force protection provider at the Army airbase in Wiesbaden Germany. After returning from Germany, Ben decided to pursue sign work as a full time career and moved to Bloomington, Illinois to start working for Prairie Signs. Ben worked full-time at Prairie Signs in the production department for 3 1/2 years until returning to Pontiac and Diaz Sign Art in 2006. Ben specialty at Diaz Sign Art is production, however he does help out with web design and bookkeeping. Ben is hoping to be a large part of the future of Diaz Sign Art and is constantly learning to better his skills as a sign artist.
